About Simon Ballou
Every week poker professional Simon Ballou shares his thoughts on different aspects of the game. He considers himself something of a journeyman who grafts out a regular living from the game without relying on the life-changing big wins of the rich and famous. Hopefully those will come – but until then he’ll aim to keep winning gradually and as reliably as possible.
Simon has been playing Texas Holdem pretty seriously for five years and making a decent living from it for the past two. He has plenty of experience of cash games from low to high stakes, particularly at fixed limit. However, in his pursuit of a steadier, more dependable income he now focuses on sit-and-go tournaments almost exclusively, with some mutli-table games on the side. He can often be found at a $55 table on the ipoker network He does play ‘live’ on occasion but certainly considers the online format to be his bread and butter.
Over the coming weeks Simon will blog about his own experiences, offer his insights and discuss some of the lighter aspects of the game.
